Thank you for supporting our gala, p:ear blossoms “My Sheltering Sky - in place,” p:ear’s first Virtual Gala in support
of our mission of creatively mentoring homeless youth. We were thrilled to see so many of our p:ear community members join us for this landmark event,
and are happy to announce that we raised close to $400K, surpassing our goal!
Special thanks to all of the amazing donors who made our first Online Auction so incredible. Your belief in the futures of these valuable but vulnerable young folk is what makes our work possible. Thank you for “showing up” for them.
We are grateful to Congressman Earl Blumenauer, Elizabeth Gilbert, Portugal. The Man, for their contributions to our gala! And, a special shout out to NW Noggin for winning the 2020 Community Partner Award!
Haven't made a donation yet? No problem! Contribute here, and make sure to add “pb20” to the memo line.

Be sure to check out 2019 Oregon Poet Laureate Kim Stafford’s poem, written especially for you for this gala, “My Sheltering Sky.”
On June 19th, we celebrated p:ear’s 18 years of working with Portland’s homeless youth with a content-rich Virtual Gala featuring local celebrities (Congressman Earl Blumenauer, Liz Gilbert of Eat Pray Love, Portugal. The Man, host Poison Waters, and auctioneer Johnna Wells) and the vibrant voices of our community.
p:ear believes every young person deserves a place where they are nurtured and encouraged to grow: a sheltering sky that inspires curiosity and is fueled by hope and grounded in love. During the Covid-19 Crisis, our work with youth continues. We are their sheltering sky.

p:ear stands in solidarity with the Black community and all communities of color. We see your pain, your beauty, your grace and mighty courage; we hear your weariness and anger; and we feel your demands for justice. We commit to working harder in the struggle to eliminate the violence of systemic and racial oppression...
