An amazing evening celebrating 17 years of p:ear's work with homeless youth!
It’s July, and that means the p:ear school year has come to an end. As we sink into summer session with our community’s most vulnerable young people, we’d like to send a sincere thank you to our donors and sponsors for the generous contributions they've made to p:ear this year.
Because of that support this past year, we were able to provide more than 16,000 meals to homeless youth. We took them out into nature, and climbed Mount St. Helens and rafted the Umpqua River. We visited museums in both Portland and Seattle, and we held more than 500 recording sessions in our music studio. We provided more than 350 job training hours, and we’ve employed 14 p:ear youth at our coffee window and our newly opened bike shop in East Portland. We accomplished a lot this year, and we’re thankful to have provided opportunities for Portland’s homeless youth to learn and grow.
Because of these gifts, we will continue to serve p:ear youth throughout the summer and as we prepare for the next school year. Gifts like these allow us to provide not only the support and everyday resources that Portland’s homeless youth need, but to provide the love and hope they aren’t getting anywhere else.
Thank you again for your support. We truly wouldn’t be able to do this work without you.
