1% from all sales go to p:ear programs
p:ear youth chose to work for over 4 months to create this homage to this greatest American athlete of the last 40 years to honor sheer power, as well as her continued fight against body shaming, racism and sexism all while breaking records and dominating the tennis world.
p:ear utilizes group mural making for the technical, artistic skills and team-building opportunities that these projects provide for our homeless youth. Youth who have never painted before are able to find success. For example, a p:ear youth named Destiny connected immediately with this Serena mural project and decided to dedicate time to it every day. Destiny’s commitment and joy over realizing that they had the ability to make a mural of this scope has been a thrill to watch and their commitment to the mural is the reason we have dubbed this mural “Destiny’s Child.”
We look forward to seeing you at City Hall for the unveiling! #pearyouth
