Dear Friends,

Belonging creates us. We simply cannot thrive unless we are in community. Everyone wants to be seen. To be seen as valuable, worthy, capable. Human connection brings complex value to our lives and it’s inside the crucible of these relationships that our character is forged: that we learn what it means to be human, fallible, hopeful and courageous.

The strength of the p:ear community is mighty and essential to many of our lives. In conflict with our aim of creating space for youth to rest, heal, experience joy and grow together - and with sadness and disappointment - we have decided to adjust our programs over the next few weeks to support the wellbeing of the whole p:ear community. We remain committed to doing our very best to ensure that p:ear continues to be a compassionate, safe and reliable resource to our students during this challenging time.

Safe Space & Workshops
The program will remain open Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 12:00pm for "out the door" sack lunches and services only. We plan to continue providing IDs, rent and utility assistance, safety and medical supplies, food, clothing, tents, and sleeping bags as available. While workshops, classes and recreational activities will be temporarily suspended, all other supports are available by appointment.

p:ear Works Programs
Our p:ear Works Social Entreprise Businesses - p:ear’s Coffee Works, Art Works and Bike Works - will close temporarily. Please contact Nate at nathan@pearmentor.org with questions or concerns.

The p:ear community is strong because of you - your support and compassion make incredible things happen here every day. We do not make the decision to close or suspend programs easily. Please know we are working closely with public health officials, collaborating with community partners, and checking in with our youth, staff, and volunteers on how we can do our part to promote health and wellbeing in our community. We are flexible and nimble and will adjust as the need determines.
